Nothing makes me happier than a hearty exchange of ideas. The more open channels of communication we keep, the better the world becomes. The easier it becomes for us to learn, to grow, to thrive. I was fortunate to experience these positive, far-reaching effects in the media industry as an award-winning, national journalist for the USA TODAY Network.
My work at Gannett includes over 30 client publications across more than 15 states and Guam. I relocated from Nashville to Phoenix in 2014, where I started to design and edit newspapers for Montana, Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and California.
I'm experienced in balancing multiple daily deadlines; ethically assessing consumer needs based on individual markets; and quickly organizing content with attention to space and readability. I trained a dozen employees to use company programs and Adobe products like Photoshop. My daily shift ranged from high-volume pagination shifts to long-term projects like data-driven infographics. Developing these essential skills allowed me to execute two multi-client projects shared across the USA TODAY Network in Ohio and California in 2019.
When I’m off the clock, you can find me in front of a board game, listening to Top 40. My favorite tabletops include Seasons, 7 Wonders, and Unstable Unicorns. I read the Associated Press and Webtoons daily. I love exploring the outdoors. Pottermore-endorsed and proud Ravenclaw!
