About me

Hello, my name is Matthew Vann and I like to call myself, as cliche as it sounds, a visual journalist. I love working with multiple elements to put together a fantastic design that is visually stimulating as well as easy to digest for the reader. I like to think of news design as a puzzle since you sometimes have multiple pieces of art and multiple pieces of copy. It's the job of a news designer to arrange these pieces in a way that will be attractive and easy to read for the readers. I could do this for the rest of my life. The next thing I want to learn and delve into is web design and designing for the iPad and other such devices since that seems to be where newspapers are slowly headed toward.

I know some people have had trouble viewing some of my work in my portfolios, but it seems like they appear fine in Google Chrome, but from now on, I should have all pages I upload into my portfolio formatted in a way where all browsers shouldn't have a problem displaying my work. Sorry for the inconvenience.
