About me

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009 with degrees in journalism and English. I had mainly been a copy editor while in college, first with the student newspaper, The Daily Nebraskan, and then as a summer intern for the alternative weekly LA City Beat in Los Angeles.

My first job out of college was as a designer/copy editor for the American News in Aberdeen, S.D. Within a year, I was regularly designing section fronts including A1.

I then worked at the Lincoln Journal Star for two years as a copy editor and page designer, quickly moving to being one of the A1 designers. I also designed/edited local fronts, wire and features sections.

I'm learning to become a better designer through networking, looking at examples of other designers and experimenting. I still have a lot of learn, so any suggestions, tips and friendly advice is always appreciated. Thanks for looking.
