Did you know that since 2009, Congress has refused to vote itself a pay increase? I didn’t. This chart shows the history of Congressional pay scales going back to the 1850s, both in real dollars and adjusted for inflation. When adjusted, Congress got its largest raise in 1969, with a 41.7 percent raise.
