Another way to maximize space (although one no-no in configurations like this would be to do a 2.5-column lede down the right. Too much headline with three lines, two little for a lede with only two lines). Again, a "built" centerpiece with an info box separating the mainbar and sidebar (and again, color would have helped, just a slight tint and reversing the label out of a darker-colored ribbon). Note how I got two two-story packages on the page. I pulled the bottom package from the wire editor, got shots of the victim and perp, and a color piece to go with the mainbar. The Clinton standalone acts as a seventh element on the page. Lots of info, no clutter. Every element stands on its own, and readers get balanced mix of the biggest local, national and world news.
