The O.C. Register planned for six consecutive days of JFK anniversary coverage. I built a page for the day of the assassination, of course, but this was my officially-designated piece of the series: A look at how Kennedy's moon project affected our area by bringing massive amounts of high-tech aerospace work here. The Apollo spacecraft was built nearby and the second and third stages of the Saturn V rocket were built right here in Orange County.
