After all the press Google's new Person Finder web effort got after the Boston Marathon bombings and then again, briefly, after the Oklahoma City tornado, my pal Chris Soprych suggested I do something on this feature and how it works. I broadened the topic just a bit and then wrote a sidebar with more general tips for families. The local emergency preparedness people spotted this in the paper and called me for another story idea.
