The arrest of Aaron Hernandez led me to want to build a page looking at notable NFL arrests. I couldn't decide whether to do recent arrests or all-time biggest arrests, so I split the difference and did both. There are several sources for this material, but the U-T San Diego database is the definitive source for modern-day arrests. After I compiled the "hall of shame," I suddenly realized I had included six black athletes. I dumped one of them and added my dad's only childhood hero, Billy Cannon of LSU and the Houston Oilers who was arrested in a major counterfeiting scheme. What a charming bunch of morons.
