A look at the impending retirement of the Houston Astros' Craig Biggio, and a testament to newsroom teamwork. I had come up with the gold watch concept (the watch is mine) but wasn't sure how to pull it off. One of our photographers had the idea of putting the watch in a glove ... but we didn't have a glove. Our graphic artist volunteered to drive home and get his glove, the photographer shot the photo and our graphic artist then added the gold tint to the watch and the Astros logo. It took a little bit of work, but the design turned out a lot better than it would have with just a big photo of a sad-looking Biggio.
