Without a doubt, one of the more fun Flashback pages I’ve done. Forty years ago, the Swedish pop group ABBA debuted its new song, “Dancing Queen,” which they performed in honor of the King and new Queen of their country, who were getting married the next day. The song eventually hit No. 1 here in the U.S. — but not until eight months later. I retell the story, present a photo of the performance and I put ABBA’s biggest U.S. hits onto a timeline.
