I'm not sure it was necessary to repeat the image of the Afghan girl, let alone flip the image horizontally. Why not just play the National Geo cover — the one everyone recognizes — a little larger? The juxtaposition, especially with the flipped image, is quite jarring. Another thought: you could've used an image of the woman as she appears today for the story.
