The 50th anniversary of the start of a two-day protest at UC Berkeley that led directly to the birth of the Free Speech movement and the wave of student protests nationwide. There was a lot of stuff here I didn't know before -- I had never heard of the poor guy who spent 32 hours trapped in a police car. History doesn't tell us how he got his bathroom breaks. As much as I liked this page, I was awfully disappointed that we bumped it back two days from the date I had aimed it for.
