Tropical Storm Bill did indeed strike the Crossroads Tuesday, moving through at the agonizingly slow speed of about 9 mph. We didn't get that much rain until Wednesday. On Tuesday afternoon, it was decided to postpone our scheduled B1 centerpiece and run pictures of the storm striking the coast.Photographer Jaime Carrero send back good work, but there wasn't a tremendous variety of it. Therefore, I ran the best two that didn't make A1, paired them with the rolling blog we had published throughout the day and then topped the page with a detailed tracking map -- I used to do these all the time for the Raleigh News & Observer and the Virginian-Pilot, but it had been more than a decade since I last put one together. The correspondent from the Weather Channel kindly sent us a couple of selfies, which I gleefully added to the mix. June 17, 2015.
