These kinds of pages typically turn into a big mess o' mug shots or file art. I wanted to do something visually spectacular. Photo intern Scott Julian shot the two MVPs in our studio. I cut them out and then developed a typographical treatment for three pieces for each side of the page: A Q&A with the player, the first team all-area listing and our various individual awards.
