Of course, Katrina was still hot and heavy, and John Roberts was getting the nod to replace Rehnquist. I told the wire crew I'd take the two opens on Katrina and Roberts. I proceeded to scour LatWP, AP and GNS for the best Katrina and Roberts mainbars, pulled together all the Katrina sidebars and a solid Roberts analysis, edited the photo package for all the pages, wrote the heads and designed the pages ... all in an eight-or-nine-hour shift.
