John Hardin wrote a story about the 55 inches the National Weather Service said fell in the town of Liberty, east of Houston. I put together this diagram showing hour-by-hour rainfall there that week. Later, the NWS backed off a bit, saying they didn’t get quite as much rain there as they had thought.
