The Chattanooga Times Free Press is on the lookout for that kind of full-time sports designer.
To get this job, a very strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign is absolutely required, and the candidate must be proficient in Photoshop. Illustrator is a plus. Basic knowledge of AP style and the ability to write headlines and proof pages are a must. Working with agate type for standings — box scores, line scores — is essential.
This is an evening position with weekend work and could include some news design. At least three years experience in publication design is needed, but recent college graduates with proven ability, solid references and strong portfolios will also be considered. A passion for sports is an absolute requirement.
The Times Free Press has a strong sports franchise with local coverage of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama SEC sports, along with local preps coverage.
