Are you tired of only copy editing and designing newspages? Well, the Seguin Gazette can offer you the opportunity to get out there and write or shoot, and to be home before 8 p.m. on most days.

The Gazette is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking journalist who can design newspaper pages, write an occasional story and is adept in social media. This is an ideal position for a recent college graduate or a seasoned journalist, who is looking to expand his or her horizons. The position offers a chance to get in on the ground floor and to help bring some energy into the newsroom. Experience with Adobe CS-6, including InDesign, is important (though an equivalent program, such as Terra or Quark can substitute).

Interested candidates should send in a portfolio that showcases his or her skills, including newspage design, articles and photography (if applicable) and tell us about the importance of social media to today’s newsroom.

The Seguin Gazette is a 5,000 circulation, five-days-a-week community newspaper located along Interstate 10 about 50 miles east of San Antonio. There are local recreational opportunities and Austin, Victoria and Corpus Christi are not far away.
