For the October issue of the american National Geographic Magazine we showed a visualization of a new nuclear technology known the as modular pebble bed reactor. We were asked to abstractly show the core of the technology (which would involve rendering exactly 1,800 spheres made of graphite), as well as a cut-away of one of the spheres to show the radioactive material within.
