News designer job opening in St. Louis

Missouri Lawyers Media is looking to add a designer to our print production staff in St. Louis. We are a production hub for several daily and weekly legal and business newspapers, including sister publications in other states. 

Our production department is seeking a designer who can create sophisticated, well-organized news pages in a deadline-oriented environment. Responsibilities will include designing pages for assigned publications, keeping track of deadlines and ensuring press times are met, planning page count and layout for papers, including ad placement, and creating infographics or illustrations in coordination with the art director and editorial staff. 

 

The right candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and relevant experience in news design, preferably at a daily newspaper. Copy-editing skills and experience with web content management systems are a plus. Recent graduates with relevant experience will be considered. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is required; Photoshop and Illustrator skills preferred as well.
