The Idaho State Journal in Pocatello, Idaho, seeks a copy editor/page designer who wants to push creative limits and continue our copy desk's tradition of award-winning work. Among the position’s responsibilities are designing and copy editing the daily newspaper and our many special sections, including the daily sports section. We're always developing new magazines and niche products, so there's a good chance this position will involve overseeing some of these publications.
We seek someone with a passion for newspaper design and a sharp eye for catching mistakes. Applicants must be fluent in AP style. Also important is a working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
The opening is a full-time position — four days a week (10-hour shifts). Shifts include nights and weekends. Among the benefits are a comprehensive medical/dental plan, paid holidays, paid vacation and a 401(k) plan.
