I really wanted to tell the story about the assassination of the Archduke. If you've never read up on it, please do: It's a Pink Panther movie of a comedy of errors. And the young man who shot the Archduke and his wife is, to this day, hailed as a hero by the Serbs. But I decided instead to go with the bookends approach: The next day was the 100th anniversary of the assassination, but also the 95th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Which was directly responsible for setting up Germany to be taken over by the National Socialists, or Nazis. Hence, my headline. Probably my most unusual design to date. June 27, 2014
